What does Anderson mean by his term "grotesque"? What makes someone a
grotesque? Is Alice Hindman a grotesque? Why or why not?

Anderson means that the truth complete people. What a person believe
in is grotesque. Yes i do think Alice is a grotesque, cause she
thinks/ waits on Ned Currie to come back to her.

I think that Anderson means that grotesque is something that really
shows in a person. It is the true person. Alice is a grotesque because
she believes so strongly that the guy is going to come back to her and
it takes her forever to actually realize that he isn't. She finds
herself obsessing over the craziest things and feelings and it isn't
until the end that she realizes the truth. This is what Anderson means
of the term grotesque. When they learn the truth about themselves and
the situations they are in when it is too late.

I believe that he means that grotesque is some thing that is really
thought. Such if a person believes something so much will happen that
will never happen. They are grotesque. Alice is grotesque because she
believe that something is going to happen and it reall is never going
ot happen and that makes her grotesque. -Malone

i think he is trying to tell the reader that truth is what makes a
person.Someone who is honest, will make a great person to deal with.
Because you can trust that person and not have to worry about
anything.Trust to me a is a great deal in my life. No one likes any
person who will lie to another person.

The term grotesque means that when someone believes that something
good is going to happen and it never does. Alice believes that her man
was going to return back to her and he never does. That makes her a
grotesque.

deformed, misshapened, disproportional. The meaning can be used and
viewed both ways. Physically by the way the person looks, or mentally
by the way ther person thinks or acts.

and i don't think alice hindman is grotesque just depressed and
pitiful because she remains loyal to her lover who never comes back
and she thinks that he will return. But the fact that she remains like
that for years does sort of make her grotesque mentally.
