As one of the more well-known writers of the Harlem Renaissance,
Claude McKay addresses issues of race and identity in his poetry, but
he does so in one of the most traditional forms of poetry there is,
the sonnet. What do you think of McKay? What do you find interesting
in his poems?

McKay has a very comfortable style of writing and describes in his
work the situation and the focus of that poem and helps the reader
understand clearly without having to guess the conflict or the main
idea. It becomes very descriptive that it puts the reader in a mood
where you can literally picture what the author is talking about. He
also dwells on the past of how beautiful it was and wishes it can be
like that in the future.

Over all I think Claude Mckay is a great poet. i like how he writes
about something and he express himself on that situation. He makes his
poetry easy to read for all kinds of readers. I really enjoy a poet
who does this, because its makes reading poetry easier. When the
reading is easier, people will want to read.

I believe that he is a good writer. He makes things simple and easy to
read and understand. the things that he wrote about are real life
things and showed all these things in his poetry. He is a man that i
believe that tells the trutha dn really doesn't sugar cout anything
for the readers.

the harlem renaissance was a hug era when african americans flourished
in art and music and especially in literature where poems and short
stories was popular. however it didn't just focus on african
americans. it talked about different cultures and traditions.
especially "the harlem dancer" the dancer is described to be very
elegant and beautiful in her movements and everyone stands in awe how
she moves.
