Here's a link to "Chicago," Sandburg's most famous poem:

What's your impression of Carl Sandburg's poetry? What topics and
ideas interest him?

Carl Sandburg was interested in people. All of his poems have
something to do with people and what they did or thought. I really do
not think that he is a bad poet at all. I kind of liked his works.

I think Carl Sandburg used alot of imagery to convey his ideas about
what he is writing. I think he was person who wrote about everyday
life but in a different way. I think he just used things around him to
convey his ideas.

His writing were about intresting facts of people. He wrote what
people think about or certains things they did. He used the
environment to tell stories. I was interested in reading his writings
because he was creative.

His poetry to me seems to be reality so to say and the actuality of
life seems to interest him, also it seems death or klling is something
he likes also.

Carl Sanburg is a very good poet. The poems that we read of his were
very interesting. He seems to use a lot of imagery in his works. He
seems to be very interested in what people do and think. He writes a
lot from what is going on around him and what other people are doing.

He seems to write most of his items on real life things. I like the
poem chicago because he talks about how the city really is and doesn't
cup cake it at all. The poem talks about how the city is bad and that
people don't like it but that is one of the reasons that he loves it
so much. -Malone

i really like the poem "chicago" becuase its straight forward. It
doesn't lie to you, telling you something is going to happen but it
doesn't.This poem is kinda LIKE me. I am the type of person that
doesn't care, and will tell you anything straight up. I'm not going to
hide anything.Another thing i like the most about him is the fact he
uses his imagination. he express himself and his poetry like this.

Since Chicago was known for its corruption, im guessing the poem
itself is corrupted. It talks about how the city was full of
corruption talking about how the city has become involved with sex,
money, violence, polluted, etc. its just how he describes the people
in the poem
