In the chapter "1922" from Toni Morrison's book Sula, what did you
think about what happens to Chicken? Were you prepared for what
happens? What did you think of Sula and Nel? What points is Morrison
making in this chapter?

When i was reading this, i wasn't sure what was going to happen at
all. But i really didn't expect her to cut off the tip of her finger
in front of the gang. This really didn't make sense to me, why would
she do this to herself. After I was done reading the only thing i had
in my head was question about why she did what she did.

In reading the following selection I was not understanding what was
going on. It caught me at surprise to be honest. I believe that Nel is
a person that has no heart and really doesn't like to be seen having
emotion. Sula is the total opposite... she shows emotion alot and lets
everyone see how she feels.

I though it was kinda sad what had happen, no i wasn't prepared. I
though that sula and ned was wrong for just leaving him there.

in my perspective on these characters. this kids are basically growing
up prematurally, learning things at a early age. it got to me when
sula and chicken little was just playing around when she, what i
thought was an accident, she swings him into the river and chicken
little is described as to be laughing while still in the water. like
it says bubbles arose from the water and the reader is expected to see
the kid come out of the water laughing because there having fun and
its a joke but chicken little never shows up out of the water. this
suprises everyone because not only does chicken little drown but sula
doesn't react to saving his life. instead she just stands there whlie
all this is happening and tells nel and everyone else to keep it a
secret and to not tell anyone about it

chicken little dies or drowns because him and sula was just playing
around. and after he is thrown into the river. the reader realizes
that chicken can't swim and nobody does anything to help him. this
causes the conflict when sula tells nel and everyone else not to say
anthing about it. Whats also suprsing is that sula doens't feel any
feelings or emotions about chickens death.
