In "That Evening Sun," why is Nancy so terrified? How does Faulkner
use sex and violence in this short story to explore truths about
humanity?

Nancy is terrified of Jesus ( her husband). Faulkner uses sex and
violence in the story by telling his readers that Nancy was sleeping
with other men thats how she became pregnant and how Jesus beat her

I think that Nancy was terrified because she is a sinner. Jesus is her
husband. This short story was crazy. I don't think Jesus would be
married to a lady that would cheat on him . I know for sure that he
wouldn't beat her if he found out.Faulkner has a mind of his own. Who
would write bad things about Jesus, i don't think i would want to
become famous for this. I'm not sure what his plans were with Jesus,
but i think they are the wrong ones.

Nancy is a person that is scared because she has a abusive husband and
doesn't even want to be with him. Faulkner uses sex and violence to
show the people in the world and also in the ways of how the things
that he lived and also things that he saw while he was a younger
child.

Nancy is somewhat a religious person using Christ and other figures to
relate to the people around her. such as her husband as being Jesus.
like she feels guilty for some reason that she uses her writings as a
confession. Nancy isn't sure of her relationship with her husband and
ends up sleeping with other men and she soon becomes pregnant and gets
beat by her husband. Jesus says do not commit adultery and Nancy does
in this story and so she uses her husband as Jesus to punish her for
doing wrong. it was a good story to show interpretation and be able to
practice it while reading

Nancy is cheating on her husband and her eyes it is committing
adultery. When her husband finds she cheats on his he beats her. of
course if a wife cheats on you you would feel some sort of anger but i
don't think i could ever hit my wife
