Hi i use a snooper syrius 2000 truckmate - i find it very simple to programme and use and its 279 one of the cheapest around - never let me down yet and it updates weekly from the pc with the latest speed camera sites - gatso , mobile and specs
also does high risk zones and schools , warns of sharp bends low bridges and weight limits
cheers
Steve
first of all you need to download truck map from a torrent site then download a program called alberts easy activator this will give you a step by step guide to install your map.you will also have to download the truck navcore to your tomtom you can get this from the tomtom home site once you connect your tomtom and update it.hope this gives you a start any probs just ask
Now there's an unofficial "Navman Unlock" specifically for the Navman MY-30 model (which has a screen resolution of 320x240) that allows running extra software like GPSTach, mp3 and video players, alternative navigation software, etc.
The project is completely non-invasive: copy the files onto a MicroSD card in your Navman and you're good to go in minutes. The Navman internal flash isn't modified and reversal is as easy as removing the MicroSD card.
Two quick questions:
(1) do I press on the screen or the little button on bottom left hand corner to access the desktop keyboard?
(2) I'd like to include a pdf reader and a picture viewer so I can read travel docs etc. Should I just grab these from MioPocket and install them to the microSD card or get them from somewhere else?

Yes that's a good idea! The 80MB miopocket download "Apps" folder has tons of useful little programs you can pick and choose from. (There's even ones to read email using a WiFi-SD-card...... way too gimmicky I say:)
GPS Tacho app sometimes hangs and have to reboot
I haven't had this problem and use GPS tacho all the time. Any particular situation it hangs? (I assume you know how to get the menu and exit the program, it's all in german you see)
trying to open the MioMap folder without anything in it will also cause a reboot requirement.
Which 'miomap' folder is this exactly? If you mean the MioMap icon on the front screen of the menu, then yes, the reboot is NORMAL and part of how the script works: on reboot it should start back with the stock software. Makes sense? (Without the reboot, I found *sometimes* the original navman software would never find the GPS, just say "searching for satellites" forever.
As for TomTom maps, what I did was
1) google for "TomTom Win CE version", I found 7.950.
I had to try three downloads before I found one that "worked". whim if need help.
2) i put my map in a folder called 'australia' on the root of the SD card
( i knew the maps worked as I had them working on WinMo on my PDA)
3) use easyusetools (on PC) to get the dct file.
4) unpack the RAR file with the dll's into the TomTom directory

You should be able to 'unzip' the .CAB file on a windows PC (if you double click, it should just open up the zipped content and you should be able to copy it out). Look for 7-zip (freeware) if you don't have any software to unzip the .CAB file.
Hi Guys,
got this up and running and maps installed but for some reason I'm getting "no gps device" in tomtom. I went into the windows menuy thingamo and enabled the gps in orion but it keeps looking to enable it then turns it on and off and tries to upgrade..
any suggestions?
I had the same problem... go to Show GPS Status in the preferences menu... then hit Configure and choose the NMEA GPS receiver, then choose 9600 baud rate, then choose SirFNavDRv... should then connect after a few seconds...
1. Formatted and copied the new my30 files to the root of SD card.
2. Installed TomTom and ran it (version 7.9 did not run, so installed 7.4 which ran)
3. Read ttnavigator.bif for the unique_id and created dct files for Aus_845.2662 (I have same maps working with TT 7.9 on my phone)
4. Copied maps folder (with dct) to root of SD card.
5. Ran TomTom and it said "NO MAPS"
6. Unpacked the TTDLLS.rar into TomTom folder.
7. Ran TomTom now it recognises the maps but exits as soon as I select the map with a message "Out Of Memory"
You need to get your "Device ID" to put into the easy use tool. You can get your device ID on the "Version screen" in TomTom: do this by running TomTom on your Navman, clicking the GPS indicator on the map screen to get to the GPS status screen that shows all the satellite locks, then clicking on about/version/more info area.
I did have the following problems:
(a) map for Italy didn't work whatever I did. Reason = bad download or whatever. Solution = download again, download from different source or use different map
(b) after 3 countries and different maps, access to TT didn't work from main screen Solution = used Explorer to double click the TT.exe file
I got the latest aus 945.2662 maps working on it. I think it has the westgate bridge updates as well. Anyway I'm only using TomTom on my navman to impress friends. Until we get hold of a better tomtom software for wince with lane guidance and what not the navman software seems much sleeker.
Hi, I have a MY30 which looked like a great buy at the time, with the traffic updates, however they only work in some capital areas. I was running IGO8 on my HTC mobile, which was great however, there were a few inaccurate speed zones, and I wanted to go legitimate. ;-)
I was disappointed to find that the MY30 had very little speed zone warnings in there, and there was one time when I was driving from a country town to another (110km zone), and it had a 50 warning all the way. I have where possible lodged updates on the software, but it can be quite cumbersome, and I don't know if they will be here in time for the Dec update.
