Absolutely correct, Sunil.  I have included the CCW, the CCW-designate and the concerned Secretaries to help ensure prevention of use of Styrofoam.

Dear JC,
Please take special care to NOT use Styrofoam during the ensuing Hostel Days/Nights.  I'd advise you to please discuss with the concerned Hostel Secretaries and identify a correct way to serve ice cream and other dishes as well (stainless steel cups that will be washed later, arecanuts cups, ...).  Please do include Mr. Sunil Damodhar's inputs.

Best wishes,
LSG.

Dear sir,
We had a Hostel Management Day on 10th April and the ice cream that was served in all hostels was served in Styrofoam cups. Styrofoam takes over 500 years to dissolve, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency. I felt the need to share this info as we are about to have hostel nights starting April 19th.

The following is the link to a US EPA webpage which lists 10 facts on recycling:
http://www.epa.gov/reg3wcmd/solidwasterecyclingfacts.htm

It would be nice if we could make reusable plates and cups mandatory and avoid disposables all together.

Regards,
Sunil SD
