SGR mess: complains

Dear Vinu,

I got call from one student (dining at SGR) yesterday regarding similar type of fruits are given on all days. when they ask about it to manager "why they are not giving fruit mentioned in menu since last 2/3 days", then manager told them menu has changed.
can you explain, what is actual situation? menu has changed?? if it is then why new menu is not displayed outside mess hall? and even if menu is changed then why 2/3 fruits are getting repeated in one week?
last week i also got call regarding ice-cream provided in SGR on sunday. It was of very bad quality and of cheapest brand. since there are no regulation mentioned in menu regarding ice-cream caterer are taking advantage of it. please look in to it.
If possible make some regulation about ice-cream/ sweet in new tender documents. 

I will also ask MMC members who are monitoring SGR, please take up this issue in today's tea time meeting.

It is true that this time round there are only 2-3 types of fruits were served but I do not know about the manager's comment on the change in menu. As far as I know, there is no change in the menu as such. Vinu would clarify further.
Coming to the point of ice-cream, let me very frank on this; ice-cream was not at all of bad quality. I also took the opinion from few students. None of them said it was bad though they also did not say it was great. So saying it as bad quality is not fair. Yes, there can be arguments on the brand quality. Even in last week tea time meeting we got same complaint from one student. I realized that few(may be very few) have problem with the brand because they want to see brands like Amul which everyone knows and so according to them all the other brands are bad and of bad quality which is not very true. Also, I want to mention that caterer(SGR for this matter) is not taking advantage of this. According to him the ice-cream was not bad and I also support it. Still, he is willing to change the brand if students are not happy with present one, I guess. Vinu knows more in this issue and caterer's view and would have thought on it, I suppose. Lets discuss and decide on it.

thanks for your quick replay.

Vinu, Even I was surprised when he mentioned that manager said "menu is changed".  So i mailed you to clarify it.
We can ask manager not to say such things to avoid confusion. 

Shon, I received complain about ice-cream he mentioned same words ("very bad quality and of cheapest brand") so i just forwarded it..  if most of students are happy with this ice-cream then No problem .
