Dear colleagues

I would like to let you know the Collins adult brain atlas
FEM mesh, released last July, was recently updated. The new
mesh (version 2) features much more accurate pial and white-
matter surfaces derived from FreeSurfer analysis pipelines;
the thickness of the CSF layer is also more realistic
compared with the previous version. Despite the improved
accuracy, the 2-L version of the new mesh maintains
roughly the same node number (~70,000). A high-resolution mesh,
2-H, is under development. It is expected to be useful if
you need to simulate adult brain using mesh-based Monte Carlo
(MMC) or finite element method (FEM).

For registered users, the new mesh can be downloaded from

Enjoy the mesh and Let me know if you have any questions.
