Peace, I wanted to wish you all the best of luck with finals and end of semester stress. We almost there ya'll! Soon enough! If you get a chance, take a break and check out this week's broadcast of That Fresh Radio Piece. It's my last one, so I'm tryna do it big!

1) We'll be commemorating the life and works of James Baldwin, great African American author and activist for Civil rights and Gay rights.

Despite his death over 20 years ago, his writings on race and sexuality remain relevant in today's America.

2) We'll also be discussing the country's current housing crisis brought on by Wall Street and their bankers' questionable lending practices.

They have been accused of targeting the most vulnerable, most specifically low-income families of color. As people are getting kicked out of their homes before the holidays, the top 5 investment banks are distributing over $46 billion in annual bonuses!

3) One of the most explicit cases of the denial of the right to housing is that of New Orleans.

We'll be exploring the trends of gentrication in that city after Hurricane Katrina. Activists are currently fighting the local and federal government, who plan on demolishing four public housing developments, that is 5000 units of affordable housing starting the 15th of December (this fucking Saturday people!).

So check it out today, Wednesday from 6-8pm live on 88.1FM or wmucradio.com

If you can't tune in live, check the archives of wmucradio.com at anytime

ThatFreshRadioPiece.com will be updated soon
