Good evening TLs,

Please see details on what you need to know for Saturday’s session below. Please send your email out by Thursday afternoon and let us know of any questions/concerns.

What TLs Need to Know:

  • Activity for session -- This week we are focused on how to demonstrate interest to colleges. The primary focus for session will be a triad-focused activity meant to familiarize the group with methods for demonstrating interest. The worksheet is linked both here and in the agenda.

  • During session -- please jump from triad-to-triad to see if there are any concerns and important questions from students.

  • Don’t feel like you need to be an expert on demonstrating interest and financial aid- if your team has questions that you don’t know the answer to, shoot a note to Eva, Dan, or the PDs.

  • Office Hours -- TLs can attend an office hour session with Dan/Eva to discuss any curriculum questions they have on Thursdays from 6 to 6:50 pm

  • Fundraising -- The April 5K is a great way to build community on your team! Please encourage participation on your team!

  • Volunteer recruitment -- Starting this month, we'll be rewarding volunteers who help with recruitment. Top recruiter of the month gets a $50 Amazon Gift card and anyone who refers* a friend is entered to win a $25 Amazon Gift Card. We've only had 4 Mentor applications this month and need 200 Mentors by September. Please lead the way and encourage Mentors to recruit!

  • BlackRock Summer Excellence Internship - TLs please gauge interest in this program when talking to triads and report any interested students to Dan.

  • Comment about Questbridge Prep Scholars -- In the future, juniors (i.e. current sophomores) will be informed of Questbridge much earlier. Juniors should not stress about applying for Prep Scholars if they are unable to, since it is an entirely separate application process from the National College Match (during their senior year), which they will have more than enough time to prepare for.

*Referral is counted as anyone who signs-up for (1) Information Session (2) Coffee Chat (3) Prospective Volunteer List or applies to be a volunteer. (Coffee Chat + Prospective Volunteer List sign-up forms will go live later this week).
