Brief Program Overview: The BlackRock Summer Excellence Internship program is a 4 week immersive career exploration experience for highly motivated students from underserved / under represented communities. The goal of the program is to give hands on experience working for a large asset management firm and to identify top talent at an early age. Each student will be assigned to a specific department (i.e. Investment team, Human Resources, Marketing etc..) and will work daily with a small group of other interns and employees to learn more about that team. A junior employee is also partnered with each intern as a “buddy” to help with navigating the firm, networking and any day to day questions that may arise. Interns spend approximately 50% of the time working with their assigned team where they will work closely with various team members to complete hands on work assignments, attend departmental meetings and collaborate with the other Summer Excellence interns on a group project to demonstrate what they have learned. The remainder of the time will be spent in group workshops, panel discussions and training sessions with the full group of interns.
