I am writing to let you know about a new school opening in Plainland – actually just across the highway from my school.

 

Sophia College is a new secondary college opening at Plainland, where they are advertising for teachers of almost all subjects, including Languages. This may be an opportunity for a teacher to pioneer a new Korean language program, so I am keen for you to consider this opportunity and spread the word.

 

It is not too far to travel from Brisbane, and you would have the full support of myself at neighbouring Faith Lutheran College, Plainland, where I pioneered the Korean program over 20 years ago. I will be able to mentor and collaborate with the language teacher  in the future. If you have been hoping to begin teaching Korean, this would be a good place to offer the Korean Plant-a-School-Program, which subsidises Korean teacher salaries, making it more enticing for the employer to offer Korean at that school. I guess they will be looking for teachers across multiple curriculum areas, so that would be a bonus too.

 

Please consider this opportunity and share with anyone you know who might be interested in applying. I highly recommend you let me know if you plan to apply, so that I can make contact with the school admin to provide information about the Korean Plant-a-School Program. I have not done this at this stage as I don’t know if there are staff interested in applying. But as soon as I confirm this, I can work with the Korean Education Centre on your behalf to help coordinate this prior to the recruitment phase.
