Here's an interesting Ph.D. fellowship opportunity from Qualcomm.
Teams of two CS/ECE students from an exclusive set of schools. The
fellowship directory will be on campus next week and will hold an
information session in Scaife 125, Thu, Jan 19, 6:30-8pm.

Qualcomm is delighted to announce the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship
(QInF 2012) to promote research. We will be awarding SIXTEEN
fellowships of $50,000, in the form of eight winning teams of two
students each. The fellowship is open only to PhD students in the
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science departments, who will
apply for the fellowship with an innovation proposal. For the 2012
edition, we invite proposals from students from one of the following
12 schools: Berkeley, Stanford, UCSD, USC, UCLA, UIUC, CMU, MIT, UMCP,
Rutgers, Columbia, and Princeton.

Application material includes (1) idea proposal, (2) innovation
recommendation letter, (3) CV of students; with an application
deadline of Feb 15, 2012. The winners will be announced in May,
following finalist presentations at Qualcomm.
