Dear Supporter,
CPL Michigan is excited to announce the launch of the 2010 Michigan Civic Engagement Academy.
Through 50 hours of training over the course of five months, as well as peer coaching, networking, and
community engagement projects, the Michigan Civic Engagement Academy will help you build a foundation of essential organizing and
leadership skills to mobilize your base and enable you to change your communities
for the better.
The five-month program starts in late November and runs through March of 2011, including five weekend workshops.
- Do you care about your community and want to know how to be most effective in making the changes you want to see a reality?
- Do you have ideas and opinions you want to implement to make your neighborhood or city better?
- Have you gotten a taste of the power of community organizing and political action through volunteering on a campaign, rallying, or protesting and want to do more?
- Do you want the training and experience that will help you do this?
If so, then apply today for the Michigan Civic Engagement Academy. The deadline to apply is October 25th, 2010.
With the help of national experts, guest trainers and state-wide leaders, Michigan Civic Engagement Academy participants receive the skills and networks they need to be powerful advocates for progressive change in their communities, including progressive vision & values, fundraising, grassroots power & campaign planning, and communications & messaging.
If you have any questions please call or email Dessa Cosma, CPL Program Director, at (231)631-4469 or email at dco...@progressiveleaders.org.
There are limited spots available in the program, so apply today!
Sincerely,
Dave & Dessa
