Hi everyone,
Just to let you know we've fixed our first date in the diary with Campus North - 27th August 6.30pm.
We'll have a look at the Titanic Survival data set, and have a play about with some basic ML techniques.
I'm hoping to take a peek at the following algorithms:
- Naive Bayes Classifiers
- Random Forests
- Linear SVC
(we'll also mention cross-validation and overfitting!)
This is primarily a hack/dojo session, so bring a laptop if you can!
We need 15 attendees for Campus North, so get on and sign up, then invite everyone you know:
If this goes well, we should be able to have a regular meeting on the last Thursday of the month, so let's make it a good one!
Can't wait!
Tom
