I recently "retired" a web domain that had become obsolete, and in
doing so, I wrote about it here to share some of the thought process
of a typical networker's day-to-day journey in dealing with unstable
companies. Below is the text that was added to the top of the sites.
Perhaps you can relate?

The pursuit of financial independence continues elsewhere.

This web domain was bought to promote a business that no longer
exists.

Before the company even launched, they changed their name, so this web
domain name became irrelevant. Then other changes were made, then
more, then some statements were reneged, and so finally I have decided
to abandon all marketing and involvement with this supplier. They are
too instable for me.

I'm old school and that includes boring things like honesty, a man's
word having value, etc. I first started in business in 1981 and in
network marketing specifically in 1995 and fell in love with the
common sense of buying products from a supplier who was willing to
offer incentives to anyone willing to buy from them and share the
opportunity with others.

"Network Marketing" has been accurately dubbed the "poor man's
franchise".

Because it's still a new and rich industry, it's ripe ground for
shysters and, well, let's call them what they are - liars. There are
so many people in networking today that have told so many stretched
truths for so long that they aren't even aware that they're lying.

A perfect example is the current phase known as "Reverse Marketing"
where the perpetrator acts like they are interested in YOUR business,
but actually they are only interested in using that tactic to open a
conversation with you so THEY can tell YOU about THEIR business.

When challenged, I've yet to find one who even has a clue that what
they're doing is deceitful at best and lying at worst.

The first few times it happens, it was repulsive and I lashed out, but
after thinking it through, I now simply feel sorry for those people
because with that kind of thought process, they are only revealing
their business immaturity and illustrating how pitiful and desperate
they are.

But that's ok, because it's a part of the process of becoming
successful. At least they are trying, and that's more than most
people "out there" in the real world are doing.

We need more people who want to achieve their own financial
independence, and so I've evolved to the point of trying to help those
who are at least trying.

Lord knows I'm not perfect nor have I "arrived" yet myself!

Who do I think I am to judge another anyway, right? So, I've climbed
down off my high horse! Besides, humble is more attractive than
arrogancy.

Anyone who has achieved financial security through their own efforts
knows that it is a difficult journey going through stages like having
an "entitlement mentality to having "job mentality" to having your own
"business mentality to "success mentality".

It's all about attitude and how you look at things really.

And once I understood that knuckleheads are going to exist at all
levels, then I quit holding it against them and started deciding to
encourage them to keep trying and to progress.

For another example, look at the illogical and harmful things some of
the so-called "Tool Business" systems have done to people. That's
another saga of busted dreams right there, but the point here is that
it's all in HOW YOU REACT because crap is going to happen - we
can't change that - but we do get to choose how we react to it.

If you'd like to achieve your own success and talk with some people
who are on that journey themselves, you are invited to check me out
and to possibly hook up with some like-minded business owners.

We are not the <i>"pushy type"</i>, so don't worry about anyone trying
to recruit you. The goal is to share and help each other, not to
shove OUR business opportunity into SOMEONE else's mind.

Visit my personal site, check out my background and say hello if you
feel comfortable with speaking, or at least writing, to a stranger.
It's good practice, and I know from experience, until you get over the
fear of talking to someone you don't know, you will NEVER have ANY
successful business of your own.

My personal site can be found at: http://grossinternational.com

P.S. The rest of this site has been left "as is" because frankly, it's
a useless chore to change it and it serves as a reminder to me to stay
away from startups. They suck your energy and that only helps to
serve the under-organized business owners who have no business
starting up projects and mislabelling them as "businesses".

IN CLOSING: I realize how non-SEO this was to put the above comments
on my retired sites, but you know, it feels good to vent, and of
course, that's one thing the web is good for, isn't it?

All the best to you, and if you've read this entire post, let's pray
for you and me to find better things to do with our lives!

Enjoy the journey, for that is remembered more than the arrival.
