Network marketing is the best place to get an education about
business, people and life in general. You see it all and it can be so
lucrative!
So why does EVERYONE have such a hard time registering new people into
their business? I mean, when it makes sense to us, why is it that so
few others "get it"?
The really innovative products often times come from networking
companies. After all, the newer the product, the more explantion and
education it requires, and what better method to do that then network
marketing, one on one with people?
Yet, one has to wonder why so many people say NO to the opportunity?
Why do people have challenges with ongoing rejection?
Why can't others see the whole idea of leveraging their time and money
through the efforts of others? It made sense to you, didn’t it? Well,
guess what, you're right! It does make sense.
Remember the story went something like this: “Talk to a few people who
talk to a few people” and before you know it, you’ll be rich, sitting
on a tropical beach sipping fresh fruit drinks!
So, you went home and you couldn’t sleep for days - thinking about all
the money that you were going to be raking in. You probably test drove
some exotic cars and visited some parade of homes, dreaming of how
it's going to be. You were going to be worth millions!
Then you went out and talked to a few of your buddies and selected
family members. That's when reality started sinking in and out went
the fruit drinks on the island.
They slammed your business opportunity, argued with you and asked why
you would ever get involved with “one of those illegal pyramid
schemes”.
“Talk to a few people who talk to a few people” sounded easier than it
was, wasn't it? Everyone on your list just told you no thanks, and
those were the nice one.
It sounded so easy at that hotel meeting when that "big dog" upline
with years of experience came to town with that $2,500 suit and the
fancy Rolex on his wrist. When reality proved different than you
thought it would be, the road didn't seem so easy like you thought it
would be.
You were told to make a list of your friends and family and you'd be
able to find at elast 6 who would "do it".
Then you went to your upline and they told you the responses you got
ere "normal". Well, they are but that didn't fit with what you
thought it would be, did it?
If you were like most, you bailed out, but if you were like me, you
hung in there and you learned, you adjusted, you failed again and
again, but again and again, you learned, you adjusted and over time,
things started to get a little better.
For me, it was harder than most because I am a strong willed person,
so I have had to learn things the hard way. When I got tired of
seeing new people pass me, I learned to listen more than I spoke and
to adjust my thinking.
It's one of the best things about networking, ie. that you have to
change or you lose. I am not a loser, so I started changing, and I
still have a lot to do, but I'm on the path to my goals and I will be
until I die. I've learned that the journey is the fun part, but of
course it helps to have money and time freedom as you travel that
road.
The lesson is this - quit or change. Those are your only two
options. You can make money, or you can make excuses, but you can't
make both! Hang in there because it's worth it in the end, and it's a
lot shorter than the 40 year plan!
Remember, you WILL pay the price. You'll either pay it a little at a
time over 40+ years, or you can pay it in network marketing for a
short time and reap the lifestyle that most will never have because
they weren't willing to do what most will never do - never, never
quit!
