Can I ask why you publicly put this letter in the ISP marketing email
discussion list? And who you were talking to? Never mind.....I see what
Walter did, he sent his letter to me to you without explanation! I have never
sent you any email either. Walter @ telesouth, wanted all of his set up for a
merchant account for free, and he told my Agent that he had no intention of
giving us referrals right away. Therefore my Agent made the decision to not
put out $400 for an ISP who had no intentions except to get his merchant
account for Free. Your posting his letter publicly makes me look horrible
since it only shows his side of things. He didn't even post our email's
publicly.

Not all people hate Cardservice, I have many happy clientele, it is all in the
service and mutual respect.

I hope that Walter did not ruin your day as he did mine. God Bless you and
yours.

Just who the heck do you think you are talking to? I never sent you any
email. I'd say you were highly unprofessional.

I have had three of cardservice sales reps quote me three different sign up fees and
commission schemes. The sales people try to see what you'll pay before they answer a
simple question of How Much!
Has anyone set up a dedicated line to Firstdata to become authorization gateway?

Yes, I have worked for Cardservice's corporate office for over 2 years, and
just this year began a career in sales for ONE of the 50+ agent offices. I do
know that there are many shifty sales people (in every field in general,
salespeople can be slimy). I did personally send apologies to Mr. Carter for
misunderstandings. I personally know that some of the Cardservice Agencies do
nothing but sell and go on to the next guy. We are a smaller office who like
to give personal attention to ISP's and other clients who want to join us in
our referral program. We offer $$ for referrals or parts of our product line
for FREE in exchange for referrals. I may be a needle in a haystack of
salespeople who actually care about helping the merchants I sign up. I offer
additional services such as Newsgroup postings and classified ads on the net
about their product. If I personally had the choice I would offer a merchant
account itself for FREE but my Agent has to pay our Corporate office for that
so I offer services over and above other companies. We are not the cheapest,
but I stand behind Cardservice if you can find the right agency to handle your
business than congrats to you. I know at least 1 or 2 of you are with
Cardservice and haven't had problems.
At any rate, all of our experience in this world are not always the best, but
we make our own future and I personally do care about people and their
companies and I wish I could handle every single company out there, again I
think that mutual respect is the key. If I personally ever offend anyone than
you have my sincere apologies. I joined this list because it was called ISP
Marketing list and I am in search of friendly ISP's to create an alliance
with.

The reason for setup fees is that you *never* know if someone is going
to make you money off just the transaction fees. My company makes a lot
more than a cardservice rep does, and we *always* charge a setup.

The funny thing is, real business people understand the value of my time
and money, just like I understand the value of theirs, and they hardly
ever ask me to lower or drop the setup fee. 90% of all our accounts that
try to get me to drop the setup fee never end up making me any money and
only
end up wasting my time.

In the transaction processing business everyone tells me that they are
going to make a lot of money, and therefore I will make money from them,
and therefore I should give them some sort of *deal*. The truth is that
on 80% of those people the *ONLY* money I make is from the setup fees.
The remaining 20% make me a mint in transaction fees.

The easy way to tell is to look at the amount and number of transactions they
have. I can tell you we do a fair amount of both with no charge backs and there
is no possible way I would ever pay a setup to switch to a new vendor. If you
want my business then make me an offer, otherwise I would say you aren't serious
about wanting my business.

It doesn't have anything to do with whether someone is serious or not,
it's about money. If it's profitable I'd do it, if not, then I won't
touch it. Your volume might seem like a lot to you, but it might not make
me that much money. What's relevant to me is how much money I make off
your volume, not how much volume you do. I cut deals all the time, but I
always remember that what's important is how much money I make now and
over the long term, and I get it in writing.
