Internet Do's and Dont's: Legal Problem Prevention, The Laws Affecting
Networks
Know your rights and risks in the online world. Your online legal
rights do not necessarily work the way you think. They do not follow
the traditional rules of Free Speech, Copyright and Privacy. Using real
life cases, this class will cover the hottest topics affecting system
operators and users including:
* Potential dangers and problems of online systems
* Electronic Communications Privacy Act
* Your rights regarding copyrights and trademarks online
* Crimes in the online world and your responsibilities
* Contractual relationships online
* Freedom, censorship, search/seizure, and control in the online world
This one day seminar is on Friday, November 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with
a lunch provided. It will be held at Richland College in Dallas, Texas
in the Richland Annex, Room 108. The course number is 801281.971.001

Instructor: Joel Lopez is an Atlanta attorney who worked as a computer
programmer before entering law school. He routinely advises individuals

The Royal Canadian Mint has just released the first of three pilot education
modules targeted at children in grades kindergarten to six. The two
remaining modules will be published at the beginning of October and
November. If response is favourable, there is a good possibility the
modules will become a permanent program of the Mint.
Schoolnet, Canada's Internet resource for grade and high schools, is pleased
with the initiative and is publicizing the first module. If you wish to

First of all, by snail mail contact Circle of Children. It is a very
worthwhile organization that sponsors Sioux children from the Pine Ridge
reservation in the South Dakota. I have sponsored a child (now age 17)
for seven years through them, and have found the organization very helpful.
They will probably help you to communicate with an elementary school class
on the reservation. The Lakota Sioux girl I sponsor uses an Internet
connection at Pine Ridge High School. Perhaps an elementary school there
uses the same: Circle of Children, 809 South street, Roslindale,
Massachusetts USA 02131.
Here is a list of some of my Native American bookmarks, which you will
be able to use when you have a full Internet connection. The resources
