Immediate Hire - Data Modeler with OLTP(Local to DC,VA,MD)

Hi Friends,

Data Modeler position with in DC. 6 months project.

Senior Data Modeler

• Ability to build consensus and present technical concepts to a non-technical audience

• In-depth knowledge of Entity Relationship Data Modeling and design concepts. Experience building data models supporting OLTP applications

• In-depth knowledge of Dimensional Data Modeling and design concepts. Experience building data models supporting large Data Warehouses

• Ability to write complex SQL queries needed to profile data to support data modeling activities

• ER Studio or other data modeling tool

• Knowledge of data management standards and data governance practices

• Strong Oral and written communication skills including use of MSWord, Excel, Visio, etc. Ability to build consensus, present technical concepts to a non-technical audience, and influence/make recommendations to various constituents

JOB INFORMATION

Design, structure, and maintain one or more data stores or subject areas. Confer with business unit and technical staff regarding extracting data for particular reports. Monitor or accomplish refreshing of data and installation and testing of new releases or patches of database software. May consult on planning large project, conversion or upgrade

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS

• Leads requirements gathering sessions with subject area experts to identify and document data requirements, definitions, data dependencies and relevant business rules. Capture detailed data requirements both at the enterprise level and for specific initiatives.

• Perform development or maintenance work on data models,, data dictionaries, event models, CRUD matrix, or other artifacts to maintain currency with corporate standards, integration with enterprise data architecture and company goals.

• Conduct or perform data modeling exercises in support of subject areas and/or specific client needs for data, reports, or analyses, with a concern towards reuse of existing data elements, alignment with existing data assets and target enterprise data architecture. Ensure that all artifacts be developed according to SDLC standards and procedures.

• Confer with business units and technical staff to understand data usage, lineage and attributes.

• Contribute to initiatives development cycle, providing guidance for the structure, storage and forms in which data are stored, retrieved, and represented.

• Integrate models and ensure that definitions are consistent, vetted by business and re-useable across the enterprise.

• Review junior team member data models.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

• 6+ years of related experience
