Under broad supervision, designs, codes, tests, modifies & debugs computer software. Researches & analyzes program or systems problems & develops program documentation. Translates business requirements into development activities in secure & maintainable

 

The Department of Early Care and Learning has an opening for an Application Developer in the ASP.NET environment.

 

This individual will be responsible for the design, development, unit testing, system testing and support of new .Net web applications, as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications. Candidate will also be required to assist in troubleshooting application or database issues with existing applications.

 

The selected candidate will possess the following experience, characteristics, and skills:

 Job Requirements

•             Experience with the full software development life cycle including design, testing, deployment, documentation and support activities 

•             Ability to quickly understand and translate business needs as expressed by stakeholders

•             Excellent team skills and capabilities

•             Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

•             Outstanding communication skills

•             Good command of English syntax, grammar, punctuation, and spelling

•             Good attention to detail

•             Self-motivated and willing to “do whatever it takes” to get the job done

 

Required Skills and Experience

•             Minimum 3-5 years of experience with Microsoft .NET technologies including Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET Web Forms, Team Foundation Server, and Entity Framework

•             Experience with front end UI design including CSS, HTML, JQuery, and Javascript

•             Minimum 3-5 years using SQL Server 2008 or higher including database modeling and design, stored procedures, functions, views, and queries

•             Must have 2 or more years of development experience in a corporate and/or government environment

•             Must be able to provide accurate software development time estimates for system functionality

 

Preferred Skills:

•             Report writing using SSRS

•             Responsive Web Design

•             Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver)

•             Browser testing knowledge - IE8, IE9,IE10,IE11, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Edge

 

Education:

•             Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in computer science or management information systems AND Six years of related experience.

 

Skill Required / Desired Amount of Experience

Development in Microsoft .NET technologies including Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET Web Forms, Team Foundation Server, Entity Framework Required 5 Years

Front-end User Interface design including CSS, HTML, JQuery, and Javascript Required 5 Years
