Physicians for Social Responsibility
Sacramento Chapter

The Sacramento Chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility announces its 2009 Scholarship Essay Contest, open to high school seniors in Sacramento and surrounding counties (Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, San Joaquin, Solano, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba). Students may enter the contest by submitting an essay of 500 words or less describing their thoughts on the following statement by the great genius of the 20th Century, Albert Einstein: "We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if mankind is to survive."    

A total of $10,250 in scholarships will be awarded to the top 10 contestants. Deadline for essay submission is March 11, 2009. Full details of the contest are available at the
PSR/Sacramento website. For additional information or questions, or if you would like to be an essay reader or assist the event in other ways, please email in...@sacpsr.org or call (916) 955-6333.    

Please help us publicize the 2009 PSR/Sacramento Scholarship Essay Contest to high school seniors (a flyer is attached), and please also consider making a contribution to help sustain this annual scholarship program. Tax-deductible contributions to the PSR/Sacramento Scholarship Fund may be sent to PSR/Sacramento, 10 Dumfries Court, Sacramento, CA 95831 or can be made by
credit card through PayPal.
