Dear Machine Learning for Kids Support Team,

I am experiencing a problem with the "Toy Language Model" project on your platform. Whenever I log out of my account and log back in, the project does not appear in my list of saved projects, forcing me to recreate it from scratch every time.

Could you please explain why this is happening and how I can ensure my projects, especially the Toy Language Model, are properly saved and persist across sessions? I have checked the help section, but it did not address this specific issue with language model projects.

Any guidance or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated, as this is disrupting my learning process.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

Giuliana

Could it be due to one of the reasons described at https://groups.google.com/g/mlforkids/c/MiXKhnhK3Q0/m/rpsU_ld7BQAJ ?

(To be clear, in case there is any doubt, I have no systems that delete projects stored in the cloud for registered users)

Kind regards

D

Hi Dale,

Thank you for your response. In the textual project mode for the Toy Language Model, it only gives me the option to save data in my browser. I always access the platform using the same Chrome browser where my Gmail account is logged in.

Is there any suggestion you can provide to ensure continuity in the work we're doing, so the project persists properly?

Thank you again for your support.

Best regards,

Dale Lane

You've addressed the first suggested reason (specifically, you've confirmed that you use the same browser on the same physical computer).

Can we check the second two reasons?

Specifically, are you clearing your browser storage between sessions?
And have you created an account that you log in to the Machine Learning for Kids website with (and not relying on a temporary session from the "Try it now" option)

Hi Dale,

I apologize if I wasn't clear: I am in all the correct situations, including that I do not clear my browser storage between sessions, and I am registered with an account that I log in to on the Machine Learning for Kids website (not using the temporary "Try it now" option).

Is there anything else we can check to resolve this saving issue?

Thank you again for your support.

Please can you share two bits of information with me

1)
Can you share what the Storage section in the Application tab for your Chrome DevTools looks like, please?

It should look something like this:

In particular, as well as the overall summary report, I'm interested to see the IndexedDB and Cache storage trees as I've expanded in my screenshot.

If you're unfamiliar with how to access Chrome's DevTools, you can find it at https://balsamiq.com/support/faqs/browser-console/#google-chrome

2)
Please can you share the output from clicking on the List IndexedDB stores button on https://machinelearningforkids.co.uk/#!/reset-storage ?

It should look something like this, but just copy-pasting the text from the grey box would be more useful than a screenshot, please

Dear Dale,

Thank you for your email.

  1. I have opened the Application tab in Chrome DevTools and navigated to the Storage section as requested. It shows the following entries on the left: Local Storage, Session Storage, Cookies, IndexedDB, and Cache Storage (all listed under the current site).

I am attaching a screenshot of the Storage section from my Chrome DevTools so you can verify that it matches what you expect.
