Can't create students

Hi, 

I'm trying to create student username but everytime I create one it says error that username already exists however I haven't created a single student yet.

That means another teacher in another school has created a student account with that username. 

Because the username you give your student(s) is what they use to log in, it needs to be unique across the whole site.
