POST DOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITION IN BIOINFORMATICS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA
The Computational Systems Biology Lab within the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Georgia invites applications at the Post-Doctoral Research Associate level. Candidates may carry out bioinformatics research in the area of microbial system biology, particularly to carry out network-based metabolic system analysis to develop predictive models for bioengineering target prediction. Developmental work of novel computational methods and software tools for reconstruction of microbial metabolic networks based on large-scale omic data will be needed.
The successful applicant should have a Ph.D. degree in a bioinformatics, chemical or biological engineering or related areas with a strong background in biological pathways and networks, and should have substantial experience in computer programming and computational methods development.
