We are excited to announce three open PhD positions in (Auto-)ML at the LAMARR institute at TU Dortmund University, Germany. 

The candidates will join the newly established group "AutoML and Optimization" that focuses on AutoML systems, benchmarking and prompt optimization for large language models, led by Matthias Feurer, or the newly established group "Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence" focusing on tabular machine learning, benchmarking, Bayesian optimization and AutoML for scientific applications, led by Katharina Eggensperger.

PS: The Lamarr Institute, one of six of Germany's major AI competence centers, is shaping a new generation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that is high performing, sustainable, trustworthy, and secure to contribute to solving fundamental challenges in business and society. These positions are also embedded in the computer science department of TU Dortmund University, which has a strong focus on artificial intelligence (9 professors by October) and is also one of Germany's largest Computer Science departments (30 professors by October). In addition, TU Dortmund is also part of the research center on trustworthy data science and security (rc-trust.ai).
