The new Energy Information Networks & Systems lab at Technical University Darmstadt, Germany (www.eins.tu-darmstadt.de) will develop intelligent algorithms for energy management in highly renewable energy systems. This will be critical for realizing a successful energy transition. Classical energy control is to be mixed with modern methods from machine learning, e.g. for the quantification of financial risks due to probabilistic weather fluctuations.
