Postdoctoral Research Associates – Data Science at University of Technology Sydney
About the role
The UTS Data Science Institute is looking to recruit two Postdoctoral Research Associates in Data Science to collaborate on an ARC Discovery Grant. In this role the Research Associate, will research and develop original and state-of-the-art theories, methods and algorithms for complex data, behaviour and system modelling, shallow and deep machine learning, and statistical learning. In these roles you will be required to generate high-quality research publications and project reports and join a research-intensive team including mentoring HDR students.
About you
As a Postdoctoral Research Associate, you will have demonstrated theories, track records, skills and expertise in applied statistics, data science, AI, deep learning, behavior informatics, event modelling, behavioral science, behavioral economics, machine learning, or other relevant areas. You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability deliver original real-world challenge-inspired research in a high-paced delivery environment. To be successful in this role you will have:
A PhD Degree in computer science, statistics, or applied mathematics.
Programming skills in Python, deep learning and visualization are essential.
High quality publication record.
Ability to deliver high quality results for ARC Discovery Projects as a key contributor.
Base Salary Range: $95,799 to $102,832 pa (Level A.3-A.4) This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
This position is full-time, and the appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
