The research group led by Sebastian Stich at the CISPA Helmholtz Center in Saarbrücken (Germany) has an open PhD position for a 4-year PhD program.
Possible research topics during your PhD include theory and algorithms for

federated and collaborative learning

privacy preserving machine learning

fairness, robustness, personalization

efficient training methods for transformer models

learning from medical data (the position can be associated with a joint Helmholtz AI research project)
The position is fully funded and offers excellent working conditions, including a competitive salary, social security, 30 days of vacation, spacious offices, and generous travel support. Participation in teaching is encouraged but not required.
