Fully funded (Visiting) PhD positions & Research Assistants in Machine Learning for Health & Human-Centered AI at Singapore Management University

Dear All,

 

We are seeking highly creative and motivated prospective (Visiting) PhD students or research assistants (RAs) to join the School of Computing and Information Systems at Singapore Management University. We develop trustworthy multimodal AI (images/videos + text) for healthcare and study human–AI collaboration to make AI systems usable, reliable, and responsible in real workflows.

 

Accepted students / RAs will pursue research in the following topics (but not limited to):

 

1) Machine Learning for Health:

  • Multimodal representation learning (videos/images + texts, etc.)
  • Vision–language models & large language models for clinical reasoning and decision support
  • Medical video understanding and temporal modeling
  • Robustness, reliability, and uncertainty
  • Clinical documentation intelligence (report generation, Q&A)
  • Self-supervised learning
  • Domain Adaptation

 

2) Human centered AI & Human-AI collaboration:

  • Enabling control of and collaboration with AI
  • Fairness, Accountability, Transparency, and Ethics of AI
  • Technical or sociotechnical issues related to the creation and use of AI

 

For PhD students: scholarship to cover the tuition fees and a monthly stipend.

For Visiting students: monthly stipend. The minimum duration is six months.

For research assistants: competitive salary commensurate with experience.
