29th Medical Image Understanding and Analysis Conference (MIUA' 2025) -- Tuesday 15 - Thursday 17th July 2025, University of Leeds

MIUA is a UK-based international conference dedicated to the communication of research in image processing, analysis, and their applications in medical imaging and biomedicine.

MIUA 2025 invites submission of high-quality long papers and abstracts containing original contributions to knowledge in the topics suited to the MIUA 2025 conference held at the University of Leeds, Leeds, UK.  The topics of interest are listed below, but not limited to: 

o   Novel methods in medical image computing

o   Novel methods in computer-assisted interventions

o   Data engineering in medical imaging 

o   Surgical data science 

o   Trustworthy AI for medicine and surgery 

o   Imaging-related clinical studies

o   Image-guided robotic surgery

o   Multimodality understanding and reasoning in medicine and surgery 

o   Clinical implementation and monitoring of imaging solutions

o   Novel medical imaging techniques

o   Foundation models in medical imaging

o   Generalisable machine learning in medical imaging

o   Algorithmic fairness in medical imaging

o   Robustness and reliability for under-represented and emerging diseases 

o   Real-time AI for medicine and surgery 

o   Biomedical image computing for neglected diseases

MIUA 2025 papers will be published in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) proceedings volume.

Submission Deadline

Full paper submission (Regular paper*): 24th March 2025

Abstract paper** submission: 12th May 2025

*Regular papers: Authors are invited to submit full papers of length between 8 and 15 pages (1 column – the LNCS template, word, latex, overleaf) and follow the Springer Author Guidelines, showing original research contributions under the conference's topics. All submissions will be double-blind peer-reviewed and accepted articles will be published as MIUA Proceedings by the Springer Publishing Group. 

Supplementary Material: Authors are permitted to submit supplementary material with their papers.

**Conference abstracts: Authors are invited to submit short papers of length up to 3 pages excluding references (1 column – the LNCS template) showing proof-of-concept research contributions under the conference's topics. All submissions will be peer-reviewed, and the accepted abstract will be published as an eBook (TBD).

MIUA continues to foster fairness, diversity, and inclusion within its community. Submissions from typically underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged.
