Dates: 9–12 September 2025
Location: Kaunas, Lithuania
Website: https://e-nns.org/icann2025/preliminary-program-2/

ICANN 2025, organized by the European Neural Network Society (ENNS), brings together leading researchers and practitioners in artificial intelligence, neural networks, and brain-inspired computing. This year’s program features an exciting lineup of keynote talks:

Keynote Speakers and Talks:
  • Bernhard Schölkopf (Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems)
    "AI Extracting Causality"

  • Viktor Jirsa (Aix-Marseille University / EBRAINS)
"The Virtual Brain for Personalized Whole Brain Models in Health and Disease"

  • Emmanuel Bengio (Valence Labs / Recursion)
    "AI and Generative Models"

  • Gintarė Dziugaite (DeepMind, USA)
"The Dynamics of Memorization and Unlearning"

  • Alessio Micheli (University of Pisa, Italy)
"A Journey through Efficient Deep Learning on Graphs"

  • Christiane Woopen (University of Bonn, Germany)
"Neuroscience and AI for a Flourishing Life"

Tutorials and Workshops:
  • The Virtual Brain (Jirsa et al.)

  • Dynamic Field Theory (Schöner et al.)

  • GFlowNets (Emmanuel Bengio)

  • Simulation-based Bayesian Inference (Michael Deistler)

  • Brain Visual Decoding with Generative Models (Weihao Xia & Cengiz Öztireli)

  • Reservoir Computing, Neurorobotics, and AI in Drug Discovery

Other Events:
  • A highlight of ICANN 2025 will be the Public Panel Discussion titled "Where Does AI Lead To? Opportunities and Risks," held on the evening of September 10. This open and engaging conversation will bring together some of the world’s foremost thinkers in artificial intelligence and neuroscience to explore the societal, ethical, and scientific implications of AI.

The panel will feature Bernhard Schölkopf (Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems), Christiane Woopen (University of Bonn), Viktor Jirsa (Aix-Marseille University / EBRAINS), Gintarė Dziugaite (DeepMind), Emmanuel Bengio (Valence Labs/Recursion), and Yoshua Bengio (Université de Montréal), who will join remotely.
