PLP 2024: The 12th Workshop on Probabilistic Logic Programming

******************
Dallas, Texas, October 12-13, 2024 (exact date TBA)

Co-located with ICLP 2024

Website: https://stoics.org.uk/~plp2024/

******************

The workshop encompasses all aspects of combining logic, algorithms, programming, and probability.

Probabilistic logic programming (PLP) approaches have received much attention in this century. They address the
need to reason about relational domains under uncertainty arising in a variety of application domains, such as
bioinformatics, the semantic web, robotics, and many more. PLP is part of a wider current interest in probabilistic
programming. Due to logic programming's strong theoretical underpinnings, PLP is one of the more disciplined
areas of probabilistic programming. It builds upon and benefits from the large body of existing work in logic programming,
both in semantics and implementation, but also presents new challenges to the field. While PLP has already contributed
many formalisms, systems, and well-understood and established results, such as parameter estimation, tabling,
marginal probabilities, and Bayesian learning, many questions remain open in this exciting, expanding field at the
intersection of AI, machine learning, and statistics. As is traditional in this series, the workshop would be designed
to foster exchange between the various communities relevant to probabilistic logic programming, including
probabilistic programming and statistical relational artificial intelligence.

*** Scope ***
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Probabilistic (Logic) Programming Formalisms and languages
Reasoning with Uncertainty
Probabilistic Knowledge Representation and Reasoning
Neuro-symbolic Representation and Reasoning
Statistical Inference
PLP Applications

This list is by no means exhaustive.

*** Important Dates ***
- Paper submission deadline: August 4th, 2024
- Notification: August 27th, 2024
- Camera Ready: TBA

Workshop: October 12-13, 2024 (exact date TBA)

*** Submission Guidelines ***
We invite three types of submissions:

- Novel results (6 - 15 pages)
- Work in progress and Technical Summaries (2 - 5 pages)
- Recently accepted papers (in the original format and length)

Papers (except recently published papers that should be submitted in their original format), should follow
 the CEUR template available at:

https://www.overleaf.com/read/qxjmkyfkjngm#35e1bc

At least one author of each accepted paper will be required to attend the workshop to present the contribution
(we are thinking about the possibility of allowing remote participation).

Submissions must be in PDF format and will be handled via the EasyChair Conference
system at the following address: https://easychair.org/cfp/PLP2024
