Hello there,
My institute at LMU Munich in Germany is hiring for a postdoc position in AI/ML applications in Cultural Heritage and Archaeology.

The ideal candidate should be proficient in ML programming (Python is the preferred language) and will have a computer scientist/data scientist background or a hybrid archaeology/computer science background. We chose Python as the preferred language as the Postdoc will be involved in teaching M.A. courses involving programming and data science courses for humanists and advanced methods courses using this language.

The Postdoc position (Akademischer Rat in German) is quite appealing as it is for a 3-year period with the possibility to be renewed for another 3 years after a merit review.

The Akademischer Rat position is also appealing because it has a temporary civic servant status and related tax benefits. The job will be all in English , including teaching.

Due to Bavarian law, only junior researchers under 35-36 can be hired in this position (I know this sucks and it is quite odd for Americans...but to each country its own).

Here is the link to the official job ad

Thank you,

Nicola Lercari,
Professor and Chair of Digital Cultural Heritage Studies
LMU Munich
