Dear Colleagues,
We invite you to submit to the Workshop on Ad Hoc Teamwork (WAHT) that will take place at AAAI 2024 in Vancouver, Canada.
https://sites.google.com/view/ad-hoc-teamwork/home
Ad hoc teamwork is defined as a challenge to design autonomous agents that can collaborate with unknown teammates without prior coordination. Related problems include zero-shot coordination, agent modeling, and human-agent collaborations. The aim of this interactive workshop is to build a united, supportive research community for ad hoc teamwork and these related problems, consisting of both academia and industry. It will facilitate discussions, identify the main attributes that can vary between ad-hoc teamwork tasks, and discuss the progress that has been made in this field so far. It will also identify the next immediate and long-term open problems the community should address.
We invite researchers to participate in this hands-on workshop to consolidate the lessons that they learned so far and to discuss the next steps in this prolific research avenue. These discussions will enable researchers to have more productive collaborations and opportunities to address the ad hoc teamwork problem better.
This workshop will take place on February 26, 2024, as part of the AAAI workshop program. This workshop is planned to be in in-person mode, so at least one of the authors (or a representative on their behalf) should attend AAAI in person and register for the workshop.
We invite researchers to submit papers on the following topics:
Ad hoc teamwork
Zero-shot multiagent learning
Adaptive learning agents
Cooperation with new teammates in-game settings
Agent modeling
Theory of mind of new teammates
Plan and Goal Recognition
Learning communication protocols on-the-fly
Cooperation in open environments
Human-Agent and Human-Robot Interactions
Submission details:
The submission deadline is November 24, 2023.
Notifications will be sent on December 4, 2023.
Workshop: February 26, 2024.
Submission:
As this workshop is meant to support community building and facilitate discussion in AHT, we encourage mature research and early-stage research submissions. Early-stage research submissions should be in a 2-page long format (excluding references). Meanwhile, more mature research (as well as talk-only submissions of recently published work) are in an 8-page long format (excluding references). All accepted papers would be presented in a lightning talk and a poster session. Reviews will be single-blind (author names are on the paper during submission), and the submission format should follow AAAI formatting guidelines (https://aaai.org/authorkit24-2/). Accepted papers will be published on the workshop website without formal proceedings.
