Come help us define the future of mobile communication technologies. Our research team is working in areas such as machine learning, user modeling, spatio-temporal modeling, advertisement, interaction models, NLP, geographic models and multimedia. At AT&T Labs, you will have a chance to contribute to cutting-edge research to build the next generation of telecommunication technologies.

Responsibilities

Accomplish a 10 weeks internship project as part of a team of researchers, leading to a top-tier conference publication. Work closely with engineers to get your ideas into production, potentially including writing production code. The successful candidate will build useful customer and business representations from various large-scale datasets available at AT&T. The exact scope of the internship will be determined to match both business priorities and research relevant to the publication of your thesis.

Ideal Qualifications

 

-Being currently a PhD student in Computer Science or a related area.

-Strong programming skills.

-Experience with large-scale machine learning and predictive modeling, information extraction and data-mining techniques.

-Experience with large-scale approximate inference, statistical NLP and data aggregation techniques, structural data mining, and information retrieval.

-Demonstrated ability to apply machine learning and data mining techniques to a broad range of data including both structured (including graphs and geospatial) and unstructured data.

-Excellent research track record.

-Industry experience.

-Ability to collaborate with other research scientist/engineers and work effectively in a team environment.
