Artificial Intelligence Center
The Artificial Intelligence Research Center is the machine learning powerhouse of TII, working in close collaboration with our other research centers to harness the full benefits of AI across our projects – and drive innovation from new computing paradigms, designing and delivering new AI methodologies, technologies, solutions, and systems that address challenging issues across multiple sectors of the economy – from technology to healthcare, cybersecurity, and government, among others.

We incorporate core elements of intelligence (perception, sensing, planning, and language) in the ideation, design, and prototyping of next-generation systems with human-like intelligence. We build advanced AI computing and scalable AI-based software stacks and hardware systems to deliver significant enhancements in systems infrastructure. Our AI researchers, scientists, and engineers collaborate to ensure innovative outcomes, from AI theory to AI technologies towards better intelligence.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS
We are seeking several qualified individuals for different roles and different levels with a preference to hands-on collaborators. The available positions are:
• AI/ML (Lead/Senior) Researchers and Engineers.
• NLP (Lead/Senior) Researchers and Engineers
• Computer Vision (Lead/Senior) Researchers and Engineers
• Voice/Acoustic (Lead/Senior) Researchers and Engineers
• HPC (Lead/Senior) Researchers and Engineers

DUTIES
The following summarizes the expected tasks for the positions. Some specificities apply depending on the position and the level naturally.
• Develop state-of-the-art generative AI algorithms and models, with the primary focus on dialogue systems, natural language understanding, logic reasoning, pretraining, question answering, etc.
• Design, test, and tweak the core ML systems that enable different problems (NLP, Vision, voice, etc.)
• Design, develop, and deliver products (TRL4+)
• Rapidly scale features and improvements with minimal guidance
• Design and build applications that are efficient, reusable, and reliable
• Collaborate with the team on large projects
• Analyze, maintain and enhance the performance of the application
• Stay connected to industry standards and practices
• Contribute to technology transfers through the implementation of the research findings into proof of concept (PoC) according to the research needs
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback
• Optimize model for real world application, with consideration of accuracy, robustness, and speed.
• Propose/build novel algorithms and publish/patent them.

QUALIFICATIONS
To qualify for these positions, the requirements include, but not limited to (depending on the position and the level):
• An PhD (for researchers) and Engineering degree or equivalent (for Engineers) in computer science or related field
• 3+ years experience in the field
• Strong proficiency in one or more common languages (e.g., C++, Java, Python)
• Experience working with cloud computing and compute infrastructure
