PhD positions in Artificial Intelligence Driven Drug Discovery in Macao Polytechnic University

We are looking for motivated candidates to join our team at the Centre of Artificial Intelligence Driven Drug Discovery (AIDD) of the Macao Polytechnic University (MPU).

At the forefront of innovation in pharmaceutical research, we harness the power of AI, machine learning, intelligent algorithms, and molecular simulations to accelerate the discovery and development of novel pharmaceutics. Our projects include (among others) target identification, protein-ligand and protein-peptide binding prediction, virtual screening, and prediction of activities and functions of biomolecules and chemical compounds.

Qualifications:

• Hold a master’s degree in Computer Science, Computational Chemistry/Biology/Physics, Bioinformatics, Pharmacy, or a closely related field
• Highly motivated, ambitious to achieve research excellence
• Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning
• Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R, …)
• Familiar with molecular modeling and simulation software (Schrodinger, Gromacs, Amber) is a plus.
• Excellent English verbal and writing
• For funding consideration: at least one first-authored journal or top-conference publication is required
