The Extreme Statistics research group (extSTAT, http://extstat.kaust.edu.sa/) led by Prof. Raphaël Huser at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia, is seeking to appoint three Postdoctoral Research Fellows to work on research problems at the interface between several of the following areas:
The three postdoc positions are designed to be a career-building step for junior scholars, with the development of a research program as focus. Two of these postdocs will be fully part of the extSTAT research group at KAUST, primarily supervised by Raphaël Huser, and one of these will initially be based at the Centre for Environmental Informatics, University of Wollongong (UOW), Australia, under the primary supervision of Andrew Zammit-Mangion, for eight months. Two of the three postdoc positions will be closely aligned with the research project entitled "Neural Estimators for Fast Optimal Inference with Intractable Statistical Models in Complex Settings" in collaboration with Andrew Zammit-Mangion, due to start in January 2024. Successful candidates will be expected to conduct and present high-quality research, publish papers, and help with PhD student mentoring.
