ROLLING ADVERTISEMENT FOR A JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW

Applications are invited from suitable candidates to work at the Ahmedabad University on a SUPPORTING R&D IN EMERGING FIELDS OF S&T ON STATE PRIORITY AREAS UNDER STI FUND, sponsored research project grant by the Department of Science and Technology: the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST), Government of Gujarat, India. The details are given below:

Title of the Project:	Semantic Person Retrieval in Surveillance
Description of the Project	The describable human features can be used to retrieve a person from the recorded surveillance video automatically. The project will use textual query describing a person to retrieve the individual(s) from surveillance video.
Duration	June 1st 2022 – May 31st 2025

Co-Principal Investigator	Paawan Sharma, Associate Professor, ICT Department, School of Technology, Pandit Deendayal Energy University, India
Position	Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – 1 post
Fellowship Eligibility	B.E./B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics and Communication Engineering / ICT)  / M.Sc. in (Computer Science/Information Technology/Data Science/ICT) / MCA
Fellowship Amount	GATE/CSIR-UGC NET qualification. (Rs 30,000/- per month) Without GATE/CSIR-UGC NET. (Rs. 18,720/- per month) Candidate joining PhD program at Ahmedabad University* [with or without GATE]: 40,000 INR/ month [including JRF fellowship] *Ahmedabad University awards full tuition fee waiver and financial support to doctoral students. The Ahmedabad University offers University Assistantship at INR 40,000 per month plus tuition fee waiver or University Fellowship at INR 50,000 per month plus tuition fee waiver.
Desirable requirements	·         Good knowledge of Python Programming ·         Knowledge of Machine learning and Deep Learning algorithms and Libraries
Period of Appointment	This post is purely temporary. The appointment will be made initially for 1 year and further extendable until the end of the project, subject to satisfactory performance. The selected candidate will be encouraged to apply for the PhD program at Ahmedabad University. The Last Date for applying to the PhD program at Ahmedabad University is 12.06.2022.
