Post-doctoral Research Fellow Position (Computer Vision for Augmented Reality in liver resection)

Dear Colleagues,
I have a post-doctoral research fellow position (36 months) available as part of the EPSRC funded project on “High-Fidelity Augmented Reality in Laparoscopic/Robotic Liver Resection” at the School of Computer Science, University of Leeds, UK.
The post-doctoral research fellow will work directly with me but will be supported by colleagues from the Computer Graphics team and clinical team at Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust. The start date of the project is 1st January 2026.
The project is aimed at technical innovations in computer vision and computer graphics (segmentation, 2D/3D registration, tracking and visualisation) to enable real-time interaction for surgical planning and decision making. The project will provide an opportunity to collaboratively work with computational scientists and clinical surgeons exploring novel ways to transform research and practice in surgical care. The successful candidate will develop various experimental setups to rigorously validate methods. These will include using a controlled robotic arm and various sensors for understanding the underlying principles on phantom models.
