Prof. Niao He from the Department of Computer Science at ETH Zurich is currently having several open PhD and postdoc positions in her new group under the Institute for Machine Learning and ETH AI Center.  She is looking for talented students with strong research interests in theoretical foundations of machine learning (ideally in optimization and reinforcement learning), starting from any time in  2021.  

Candidates are expected to exhibit strong expertise or research experiences in any two of the following areas: machine learning, optimization, statistics, dynamical systems and control, and theoretical computer science.
