The 15th International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence & Cyber Security (AICS 2022)

&

The 13th Cybersecurity Data Mining Competition (CDMC 2022)

co-located with The 29th International Conference on Neural Information Processing (ICONIP 2022)

New Delhi, India, November 22-26, 2022

==========================

You are cordially invited to submit papers to the 15th International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security (AICS 2022) and participate in the 13th International Cyber security and Data Mining Competition (CDMC 2022). The two events are associated with the 29th International Conference on Neural Information Processing (ICONIP 2022) as “special sessions”. ICONIP will be held in the beautiful “capital of India, Delhi” on November 22—26, 2022. For more information on venue, accommodation, and travel, please refer to the conference website at https://iconip2022.apnns.org/.

Aim and Scope:

The International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security (AICS 2022) is previously known as the International Data Mining and Cybersecurity Workshop (DMC), which had been held for ten consecutive years. The AICS workshop aims to raise the awareness of cyber security, promote the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for securing industrial applications, and give young researchers an exposure to key issues and research works in AI and cyber security. AICS 2022 will provide a forum for researchers, security experts, engineers, and students an opportunity to present their latest research, share ideas, and discuss future directions in the fields of data mining, AI, machine learning, and cyber security. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Although the rapid growth in technology and the Internet has simplified many different tasks in our daily life, this reliance on the Internet also makes us vulnerable to new types of security threats. Cybersecurity aims at preventing and detecting cyber attacks on Internet-connected systems which include data, software, and hardware, in order to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of those assets. On one hand, the diversity of attacks on such assets, which vary in nature, behaviour and methodology makes the task of detecting such attacks more difficult. On the other hand, the limitation of having enough labelled data makes the task even harder to build a good model for researchers wanting to apply computational intelligence techniques. The lack of data makes transfer learning a promising paradigm where data from related (source) domains can be utilized to tackle the problem in the target domain to effectively increase the size of the labelled data sets.

Topics:

The scope of AICS covers, but not limited to, the following topics:

·       AI for cyber security systems:

o    AI for trust, privacy, reliability

o    Explainable AI for cyber security

o    AI for authentication, authorization, accounting

o    AI for anomaly detection, prevention, and mitigation

·       Cyber security for AI systems:

o    AI attacks and their countermeasures

o    Exploiting the vulnerabilities of AI applications and their countermeasures

o    Risk management and security analysis of AI systems

o    Digital forensic of AI systems

·       Applications of AI and cyber security:

o    Wireless networks

o    Big data applications

o    Cyber-physical systems

o    Smart cities

o    E-Health

o    Social networks

o    Modelling and performance analysis

o    Proof of concept, test bed for experiment

o    System architecture

Important dates:

·       Important dates for AICS 2022 Workshop:

    • Paper submission: 15 June, 2022 Extended to 15 July 2022
    • Notification of acceptance: August 31, 2022
    • Camera-ready submission: September 30, 2022
    • Workshop date: November 22—26, 2022
  • Important dates for CDMC 2022 Competition:
    • Competition starts: Jul 1, 2022
    • Competition closes: September 30, 2022
    • Winner award ceremony: November 26, 2022

Paper Submission:

The workshop solicits novel research and industry papers relating to AI and cyber security. A paper will normally be 8—10 pages long and should be in the Springer LNCS format. All papers should be submitted via the ICONIP 2022 submission website (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iconip2022) and indicated with AICS 2022 in the options list. Like previous years, all accepted papers will be published in the Springer series of Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) and Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS).
