CIBB 2026: CALL FOR SHORT PAPERS
=====================================================================

Short paper submission deadline: May 3, 2026

Dear CIBB Enthusiasts and Newcomers,

The 21st edition of the International Conference on Computational
Intelligence Methods for Bioinformatics and Biostatistics (CIBB 2026)
will take place at Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, EU, from 2 to 4
September 2026.

CIBB 2026 continues its tradition as an international, multidisciplinary
forum focused on advanced computational techniques for bioinformatics,
biostatistics, and medical informatics.
We invite researchers from academia and industry to submit original short papers
and contribute to a vibrant interdisciplinary scientific exchange.

We look forward to welcoming you to Rome for what we envision as a
particularly dynamic and internationally engaged edition of CIBB.

Best regards,
CIBB 2026 General Chairs

[Special session on Machine Learning for Structured Data in Clinical
Informatics and Medical Biology]

Machine learning has become a pivotal tool for analyzing biomedical
and biological datasets, especially in the era of Big Data. Machine
learning algorithms can uncover hidden relationships and structures
within healthcare data and leverage them to make accurate predictions
about similar or future data instances. For example, machine learning
software has successfully predicted cancer diagnoses by analyzing
patients' clinical features, enabling scientists to save time and
resources compared to traditional wet-lab experiments. Computational
researchers have also applied machine learning to infer knowledge
about patients by analyzing biological datasets, particularly those
involving genetic and epigenomic traits. Data mining approaches
applied to such datasets can lead to significant discoveries,
deepening our understanding of molecular biology and providing new
insights into patients’ diseases.

Moreover, recent advancements in this field anticipate the integration
of clinical knowledge (represented in various forms such as medical
protocols) into machine learning algorithms. By defining methods to
incorporate and inject such knowledge, it becomes possible to harness
the strengths of both knowledge-based and data-driven approaches.

PAPER SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION
=====================================================================

Submission Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original short papers (4-6 pages).
Submissions will be handled through the EasyChair platform.
Detailed submission instructions, templates, and formatting
guidelines are available on the official CIBB 2026 website.

All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
Authors must ensure that their manuscripts do not include
information that could reveal their identities.

For specific topics of interest, please refer to the Topics page
on the official conference website.

Main Tracks and Special Sessions

CIBB 2026 is organized around three main tracks:

- Bioinformatics
- Biostatistics
- Medical Informatics

In addition, the conference will feature Special Sessions dedicated
to emerging and specialized topics. The complete list of Special
Sessions is available here.

Publication Opportunities

All accepted papers presented at the conference will be invited to
submit extended versions either to the Springer Lecture Notes in
Bioinformatics (LNBI) series or to selected high-impact journals.
Further details on partner journals will be announced on the
conference website.
