We are organising a summer school on Generative Modeling (GeMSS: Generative Modeling Summer School) in Copenhagen this summer. The school is mainly aimed at PhD students already slightly familiar with machine learning but not very familiar with generative models.
When: June 26-30, 2023
Where: Copenhagen (Denmark)
Application deadline: April 10, 2023
The first three days will mostly be about the basics behind popular deep generative models, including variational autoencoders (VAEs), generative adversarial networks (GANs), autoregressive models (including language models à la GPT), diffusion models, and probabilistic circuits. The invited lectures will be more bleeding edge and will include talks about causality (C. Zhang, Microsoft), missing data (A. Sportisse, U Côte d'Azur), probabilistic circuits (Robert Peharz, TU Graz), energy-based models (Y. Li, Imperial; W. Grathwohl, Deepmind), diffusion models (R. Rombach, LMU Munich, co-creator of Stable diffusion), geometric representation learning (S. Hauberg, DTU) and LLMs for medical data (O. Winther, DTU/UCPH).
On behalf of the organisers,
Jakub Tomczak (TU/e), Pierre-Alexandre Mattei (Inria) and Jes Frellsen (DTU)
