Summer Research Intern in LLMs for User Modeling at SRI International

The Artificial Intelligence Center (AIC) at SRI International, Menlo Park, CA, USA, is looking for a motivated research and engineering intern to work on a project that will leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) for user modeling, guiding the retrieval and dissemination process of a knowledge management system. The internship will involve working closely with SRI staff and other partners on the project, providing hands-on exposure to developing systems that interact with real users, state-of-the-art AI techniques and an opportunity to publish results from the work developed during the internship.

The intern will have the opportunity to work on-site in the Menlo Park office (preferred), but we are also open to someone working fully remotely.

Qualifications:
    - Currently a graduate student in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
    - Strong background in Generative Artificial Intelligence, in particular hands-on experience with Large Language Models, Retrieval Augmented Generation, and related techniques
    - Experience with applying user modeling techniques to drive a user-interactive system is considered a plus
    - Experience in programming in Python and familiarity with state-of-the-art ML tools
