Applications are invited for a one-year research assistant position in machine learning, with the possibility of extension for an additional year, at the University of Mons (UMONS) in Belgium. The successful candidate will join a machine learning research team and contribute to a research project in collaboration with various academic and industry partners. This position offers the opportunity to work on projects involving deep learning, unsupervised representation learning, generative AI, and other related topics. The candidate will be supervised by
Souhaib Ben Taieb, PhD, Associate Professor. Additionally, there is a possibility of pursuing a PhD position at UMONS after completing the project.
Eligibility Details and Applications
Qualified candidates should possess a Master's degree in computer science, computational statistics, or a related field, with a focus on machine learning or data science. Applicants are expected to have a solid understanding of machine learning/computational statistics and experience in data analysis using popular ML Python libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, Pytorch, TensorFlow). Proficiency in English and excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
