The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aarhus University, invites applicants for a 1-year Postdoc or research associate position offering applicants an exciting opportunity to join a new research project on Open Deep Learning Toolkit for Robotics (OpenDR).
We are looking for an enthusiastic researcher (post-doctoral researcher or research associate) who wishes to investigate develop, train, deploy and evaluate lightweight deep learning models that improve the technical capabilities of the core technologies beyond the current state of the art planning and perception methods.
The successful candidate will investigate novel end to end planning methods for aerial-ground robots team collaboration for green transition in agriculture and improve the inference speed of deep learning models for planning and perception.

Job descriptionYou are expected to contribute to the Artificial Intelligence in Robotics (Air) Group and Machine Learning and Computational Intelligence (MaLeCI) Group, e.g.:
Support to develop journal and conference articles
Communicate with our academic and industrial partners.
Develop and integrate deep learning models for the OpenDR toolkit.

(the degree should have been completed within the last 5 years at most). Candidates, who will complete and defend their MSc or PhD thesis by May 2022, are welcome]:
- The candidate should have excellent verbal and writing skills in English with very good communication skills,
- A solid publication track record in peer-reviewed journals and conferences,
- Concrete knowledge in C/C++ and Python,
- Background in deep learning methods
- Background in Motion Planning algorithms (RTTs, A*, ...)
- Background in simulation environments for robotics (e.g. Gazebo, AirSim, Webots, etc),
- Experience in aerial robotics is a plus,
- Experience of Robot Operating System (ROS) is a plus
