We have two positions as PhD student available at the Universita’ della Svizzera Italiana, Lugano, Switzerland. The primary supervisors will be Prof. Cesare Alippi (http://home.deib.polimi.it/alippi/) and Dr. Lorenzo Livi (https://sites.google.com/site/lorenzlivi/). Research topics revolve around (i) modeling and change detection in time-varying graphs and (ii) recurrent neural networks.
We offer competitive salaries: entry gross level CHF 47,040 per year.
Starting dates are flexible: one position could start immediately (May 2017); the other is expected to be awarded by September/October 2017. Suitable candidates should have strong mathematical background in machine learning, statistics, and graph theory. Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Matlab and/or python) is required. However, we are fairly flexible on the expertise of the candidates, since our projects are multidisciplinary. Applicants should be highly motivated and willing to work autonomously but at the same time collaborate within other colleagues.
